27 and 30 parity tie-ins
27 and 30 parity tie-ins

Parity, (even/odd), as cited in 89:3 is one of the simplest and most important types of symmetries. It plays a crucial role in nature and hence on the laws of physics as well as in mathematics. Its reference in 89:3 is an indication of its significance within the Quran as follows. The chapters and the numbers of their verses partition into four disjoint subsets EE, EO, OE and OO solely based on their parities, where EE, for instance, is the subset consisting of even-numbered chapters with even number of verses and similarly for the remaining ones. These disjoint subsets contain 30, 27, 30 and 27 elements, respectively! The immediate hint to the verse 27:30 is apparent.

As we recall, the tetron appearing at the end of 27:30 compensates for its absence in chapter 9 and that number 9, itself, appears twice in chapter 27 in verses 12 and 48, symmetrically located at the distance of 19, inclusively, from the key verse 27:30. Interestingly, 912 = 19 x 48, where the first occurrence of 9 at verse 12 points to its second occurrence at verse 48!

Combining the pairs EE with OO, (of equal parities) and similarly, EO with OE, (of opposite parities) will result in a pair of disjoint subsets EP and OP, respectively, with 57 chapters, each. These two sets participate in a very intriguing and symmetric correspondence as illustrated by the top two arrows. The chapters sum in EP (EPC under the first arrow) and the verse span in OP (OPV over the second arrow) are the same, 3303!!! This is highly unexpected as the two sums are totally independent of each other and there is no particular reason as to why the two should have the same sum!

Dually, the verse span in EP (EPV over the top arrow) and the chapter sum in OP (OPC under the second arrow) are 2931 and 3252, resp. It is remarkable that 2931 is the verse span from 27 to 93 (3rd arrow), and that 3252 is of composite index, 2793 (last arrow)!!! (Note, 93 is the number of verses of chp 27.) In light of all this, it is easy to appreciate the passage in 27:93 as it reads "....He will show you His proofs, until you recognize them....".

The role of parity in chapter 9 is also evident in that the 57 GV's up to the verse 72 split into 27 odd and 30 even verses, and GV 72 is in verse 93 (verses of chp 27). The appearance of 72, here, is further strengthened as we note that the un-initialed verse span from 1 to 72 is 2730! Additionally, with 72 being at position 35 in EP, we observe the following: the verse span from 35 to 72 is 1815, which is also the grame at 27:30!

Conversely, 27 points back to 9 as we note that the grame span from G:27 to G:93 is 1131, index of 9127. Furthermore, 27 is the FV's in chapter 9 and the grame in chapter 27.

We saw before that 9 and its 127 verses relate to 68 and 59: 68 ± 59 = 127, 9 and 6859 = 193. The pair 68 and 59 are of ords 29 and 31 (constituents of 2931). Up to 27:30, the verse and the initialed verse spans are 3187 and 1719, resp. We notice the links between their components: 17 is the ord of 31 and 19 is the verses of 87. Also, the pair 27 and 30 are of indices 17 and 19, resp.

As 3303 is common to both EP and OP, it may provide additional links. We note 3303 = 4627 - 1324, where, the component 13 is the ord of 24 and 27, itself ord of 46. From 13 to 46 the verse span is 2838, which is the index of 3303.
